Quick recap: LPU is the Linkin Park fan organization. It costs $60 for a year-long membership. The details of what you get with membership are listed here. I assume the “first class fan” part was in reference to a comment the band made at some point. This person appears to be very (10 out of 10) upset.

It’s sometimes hard to read the nuances of intended emotion in a typed blog post, so I’ll be very clear that I’m not angry, nor do I feel defensive as I write this. I’m calmly sitting in a hotel room on tour, with a cup of coffee and a couple pieces of toast. And this tweet got me thinking about something that’s bigger than the “who is the best fan” question.

LPU Chat With Phoenix. 21 Juni.

Kemarin sekitar jam 10 malam WIB. Phoenix melaukan LPU Chat di sela-sela acara LPU Summit di Hamburg, Jerman. Phoenix hanya mengobrol saja dengan para member LPU. Pada saat chat, muncul juga Mike Shinoda dan Joe Hahn. Saya pikir koneksi internet disana buruk, tidak bisa mendengar suara atau video chat dengan jelas. Hampir semua yang mengikuti LPU Chat tersebut menghalaminya. Berikut adalah beberapa point yang bisa saya tangkap, secara random.

• Phoenix menikmati kunjungannya ke Jerman.
• LPU Summit-nya sangat menyenangkan.

LPU Chat With Mike, 17 Juni

Mike mampir di LPU Chat di kamar hotelnya di Berlin pada pukul 11 PM (waktu lokal) atau sekitar subuh tadi. Berikut adalah kesimpulannya :

• Can’t get the V Shape stage because they have to send it over, they have to make do with the flat stages they have at festivals.
• Not sure if they are finished touring for ATS after the Asia tour because they have family stuff to consider, and they’re not a band who has the strict schedule of touring and then making an album and then touring… this routine works better for them.
• He talked a bit about setlists, he said that for everyone one who wants to see one thing live other people will be bummbed for whatever they take out of the setlist to make room for it. He asked us what our favourite Linkin Park songs are and what song we would be dissapointed to be not on the set list if we went to see them live.
• About No Roads Left live, he said they practised and recorded it and there was something he didnt like about the performance when they played it back.
• They’re sticking to the current set lists while they get used to playing them again.
• He said he appreciates that people would love to see song live that are not a part of the regular setlists, but that, particularly for festival shows where the crowds are not full of die-hard Linkin Park fans its difficult as these crowds will want to see the singles that they know-of being played.
• His cut finger is doing much better and he showed us the blender that he cut it with, he said he uses it to make smoothies and protein shakes.
• In his hotel room he had coffee, water, his blender, and his dirty laundry.
• He said that they will announce the winner of the Iridescent art contest soon, they had narrowed it down to 5/6 and each band member had voted, the winner is from Malaysia.
• He asked us if we were following him on instagram.
• He just saw the new X Men movie, he said it was ok but he was mad that some review has compared it to The Dark Knight, which is his favourite superhero movie, he said there is no comparison.
• Mike talked about Russia for a bit and one of his best memories was when he saw this Linkin Park billboard (ground level) and he saw writing on it. He got closer to see what was written and it was welcome messages, in English and Russian.
• He also mentioned that Chester will be flying to Germany tomorrow and that they sometimes get spread out on tour.

Linkin Park: "Our Next Album Will Polarize People"

Baru-baru ini Chester Bennington berbicara kepada Kerrang! tentang album studio berikutnya. Berikut adalah sebagin kutipan dari NME dan Kerrang! :

Linkin Park have started work on the follow-up to 2010's 'A Thousand Suns' and have said they believe their fifth studio album will 'polarize' people.

Speaking to Kerrang!, singer Chester Bennington has also said the band address a plethora of "serious issues" in their new songs.
He said: "We've been working on a new record for the past two months. The music is great and we're well ahead of where we're expecting to be. There aren't a whole lot of noises going on, but there are a lot of good songs. It will probably get a very polarized reaction. Which pleases me. As an artist, I want a reaction."

The singer added that the band would be looking to tackle controversial topics on their new album, rather than the more personal subjects of their older material.
Bennington added: "We've learned how to write serious songs and serious lyrics. We've learned how to deal with politics, faith and other things. Those are things that can get preachy really quickly, which we don't want to do. So you need to learn to talk to people and not at people."

LPFI Meeting With BigDaddy

13 Juni 2011 kemarin, pihak Linkin Park Fans Indonesia mengadakan meeting kecil bersama Bigdaddy Promotor. Kesimpulan dari meeting tersebut yaitu:

• Konser tanggal 21 September 2011 merupakan konser termewah di Indonesia sejak tahun 2001.
• LPFIsite.com telah mendapatkan izin resmi dari pihak Bigdaddy untuk melakukan promosi.
• Venue fullnya 25000. kapasitas festival 2000. Jadi karena kapasitas yang sedikit (tapi fansnya banyak) makanya tiketnya cukup mahal.
• Ticket hanya di jual oleh Bigdaddy. Onlinenya melalui www.bigdaddy.co.id dan www.myticket.co.id. jika memungkinkan, nanti Bigdaddy akan menambah tiket2 box.
• Tiket yang didapat adalah tiket asli, bukan tiket voucher yg harus ditukar2 lagi. Begitu juga yang beli via online.
• Jangan lupa membawa PRINT OUT file yang disertakan pada invitation dari Linkin Park ketika pembelian tiket di Tennis Indoor tanggal16 Juni 2011 nanti, karena file tersebut dibawa untuk bukti kalau sudah menerima invitation.
• Akan ada kuis yg diadakan oleh Bigdaddy, kami dari LPFI membantu pertanyaannya.
• Linkin Park tidak mengizinkan penayangan apapun (video) sebelum konser dimulai, karena kemungkinan Linkin Park akan menayangkan tentang Music For Relief.
• Meet and Greet belum pasti ada dikarenakan jadwal Linkin Park yg sangat padat (hanya 2 hari). Jika kemungkinan ada, pihak LPFI sudah request Meet and Greet untuk umum.

Dari berita sebelumnya, seorang anak bernama Kyle yang mengidap kanker otak mempunyai permintaan terakhir untuk bertemu salah satu personil Linkin Park, Green Day atau Ozzy Osbourne.

Tampaknya, permintaan anak malang ini terkabul. Kurang dari 24 jam setelah kisah ini disebarluaskan, Ozzy Osbourne menelepon Kyle dan berjanji akan mengunjunginya setelah kembali dari Tur Eropa.

Kemudian, KTLA menerima kabar bahwa drummer Linkin Park Rob Bourdon mengunjungi Kyle juga, kemudian disusul oleh Chester Bennington.
